Ok, so basically my reading was learning more about ghost beliefs and about a ghetto-nerd, who was a fat Dominican. Much humor I read during my book as well. Like the fact that Oscar was Dominican and yet he has no luck with the ladies. Oscar reminds me of myself in some ways because I am Dominican and I am from Bani. Oscar never really had luck with the ladies and I didn't either, HAHAHA (NOT). During my reading, I seen that Oscar was in his Sophmore year and almost weighed the same as me. This book sorta reminds me a lot like my high school experience so far. It shows all the struggles that we come in to school with and all the thoughts that we have during our years.
" One of those preschool loverboys who was always trying to kiss the girls, always coming up behind them during a merengue and giving them the pelvic pump, the first nigger to learn the perrito and the one who danced it any chance he got, because in those days he was (still) a "normal" Dominican boy raised in a "typical" Dominican family, his nascent pimp-liness was encouraged by blood and friends alike"(Diaz 11). This quote is pretty funny because it reminds me of an instance that happend to my friend in middle school. We had a presentation to do, that included dances and many partners moves. He got kinda freaky with his partner and she just slapped him and got off the stage because he wanted to get a little something from her. LOL.

wow, I did not expect so many connections between the reader and Oscar.
Tell more about his story, and the style that Diaz uses...
